Who We Are

The Vision...
Evolve selected spaces to become accessible for growing free fruit, vegetables, herbs and even edible flowers for the community to support and sample all year round! Pick your own strawberry's for Wimbledon or use the pizza planter to pick fresh tomatoes, basil and oregano. Check out the new Stir fry planter too!
We’ve developed an app so the locations and contents of the planters can be found with additional information.
Search 'WCGG' on playstore - Available on apple soon!

The Plan...
We're on a mission to install raised planters or edibles plants all over the village and engage local residents, schools, businesses, community services and our local church's. By spring 2020 we had installed 54 planters for the community to enjoy and be involved.

Focusing on our future…
As summer 2018 proved to have been such a success we have really grown the project delivering new planters and seated ones on sites across the village including two new Orchards at Tippet Knowes Park & Glendevon Park.  We're aiming to further develop the project utilising the Auldcathie site - Imagine walking through an apple orchard or picking fresh food to cook in a community cooking area, who's firing up the pizza oven?

How to get involved...
Do you know a good area we could grow? Would you like to see more community growing stem from this group?  Just watering our edibles in dry spells or sharing your food creations helps spread the word in these early stages.  We really want to get everyone involved in Winchburgh so please contact us and get involved!  Or just keep an eye on the planters and enjoy the contents - Please check the 'Clean Eating' page before picking.

Pick your own - Check out the Seasonal Menu page to get some local inspiration for a meal, drink or dessert!
