WHAT?
Inspired by the keen volunteers who have relentlessness picked litter from around Winchburgh such as Aileen Murdoch and after the success of our litter pick last December we have together launched a sub group called Winchburgh Wombles
with Aileen as one of the founders! What's more we are rewarding all hard working individuals for loyalty with local businesses and we launch exclusively with *Winchburgh Cafe as a partner!
HOW?
The ambition was to have every part of the community covered by wombles which we now have but still need more wombles to pick unsightly litter from across the area (large or unsafe items will be reported for another service or
REPORT waste here) Our proud sponsors of the initiative are WDL who are funding the project so that money can be
reinvested
in future growing projects within the village - Waste Warrior Wombles get to choose what the money can be spent on like flowers, bulbs, trees and everything edible in-between. Sign up below as a Womble to manage a womble zone with the womble waste warriors!
WHY?
More food growing, flower growing, bulb planting and equipment for new growing area with investment received to keep Winchburgh tidy - This helped Winchburgh Community Growing Group win a Silver award in 2021.
