Building Growing Community Connections
I & H Brown
required some planters for a new site entrance in Winchburgh so WCGG stepped up! We are grateful to have I&H brown sponsor two planters and our first flower planters ever delivered. Not only this but Alex and his team have supplied some timber for new planters and support the Winchburgh
Wombles
too!
Building new bespoke planters for site contract manager Alex Mark was easy and keeping the project local was important so Winchburgh based BDS made the I&H Brown wooden signs from local wood supplied exclusively from
Central Scotland Sawmill.
WCGG volunteer Lynn designed and picked the flowers for the two planters to give colour and interest all year round...
All of the plants were purchased from nearby
Wyndford Plants
and PJ was able to supply and give advice on all the seasonal plants - The range is incredible!
Next - Lynn, Jacqui and Lesley planted the plants, bulbs and sowed some seeds too!
Finally they painted the planters lavender to match the ones on Planter Avenue which are full of herbs, strawberries and tasty edibles from other sponsored planters.
Look out for the sponsored planters on your next walk about the community and watch as they change throughout the seasons...
