BIG Spring Plant out 2019
The BIG Spring plant out was an event on 5th May to fill all village planters and get them ready for summer.
All produce planted was locally sown and grown in Winchburgh meaning it's truly all local produce! (We purchased herbs plants however)
We are committed to reusing plastic where possible and aim to recycle everything we use.
Some produce sown was in biodegradable pots which are planted into the planters direct where the entire pot will degrade and feed the plant!
Over 40 planters where visited which including weeding, thinning out seeds and planting new produce such as fruit trees, strawberries, lettuce, peas, herbs, onions, tomatoes, beetroot, spring onions and courgettes. New compost was also added to some.
More planters are due to be installed before summer and these will be added with more, new
tasty produce!
Look out for new planters at Winchburgh Bowling Club
- Pick bowling ball shaped peas and help yourself to a strawberry in-between games!
App will be updated with the new growing produce soon so you can easily find what's growing near you!

The BIG Spring plant out will be our last until 'summer sessions' - FREE pop along and help maintain - with only watering and weeding + some extra succession planting required until autumn.
Please PICK, wash and ENJOY the produce grown for FREE - Anyone can pick when it's ready! Look out for the red, amber
or green
lights which will show which planter is good to go! Wooden tags also help identify the produce.
